MN State Fair 2015: Highlights from the Regenerative Medicine Minnesota Booth

On Wednesday, Sept. 2, Regenerative Medicine Minnesota (RMM) went to the Minnesota State Fair with a booth in the Crossroads building. Fairgoers got to learn more about regenerative medicine and how we are helping to make breakthroughs in science and healthcare.

At the RMM booth, visitors actively participated by selecting stickers and placing them where they live on our large Minnesota map. The colors of each sticker let RMM know what diseases and ailments concern Minnesotans, so that we better understand the needs across the state. We will soon post a summary of the data collected from the map.

Here is the color breakdown:

  • Cancer - Pink
  • Dementia/Stroke – Purple
  • Diabetes – Yellow
  • Eye disease – Blue
  • Heart Disease – Red
  • Liver Disease – Orange
  • Spinal Cord/Skeletal/Joint issues – Green

During the Fair, many visitors shared their stories about how they or their loved ones were suffering from health problems, and they were thankful that organizations, such as RMM, exist to directly tackle the medical issues that impact thousands of Minnesotans across the state.

Rep. Erin Murphy, DFL-St. Paul, also made a stop at the RMM booth, interacting with visitors and providing more information about RMM. In the Minnesota Legislature, she was instrumental in passing the funding for this program during the 2014 legislative session.

We will be back at the Great Minnesota Get Together next year, so if you missed the opportunity to visit, come look for us in 2016!
