Grant Description

The goal of this project is to implement non-expendable research laboratory equipment in the Mayo Clinic Center for Regenerative Medicine, which can be used as a shared resource to synthesize Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) magnetic nanoparticles.  The purpose of these nanoparticles is to enable targeted delivery of cells, drugs, genes, and other therapeutic agents in order to maximize their effect at the desired site while minimizing side-effects elsewhere.  The ability to create high-quality nanoparticles using GMP will be critical for accelerating research and translating this promising regenerative medicine strategy into clinical practice.
